Servant or advisor?

In reading Hugh Nibley’s lectures on the Book of Mormon, I came across this little gem:

‘There are a lot of Latter-day Saints who are eager to serve God on an advisory basis.’ (I think the quote may have come from Marion G Romney via Neal A Maxwell).

I love it – all too often we think the omniscient Lord would do well to take a little advice from us with all of our experience!

The Prophet Joseph Smith got it right when he said, “Whatever God requires is right, no matter what it is, although we may not see the reason thereof until long after the events transpire.”
